Learn More About Hearing Loss

Hearing loss that is also called as the hearing impairment or deaf which is a familiar term for the layman as well. The partial loss or complete hearing loss is caused due to lack of anything in the body or defect. Every 3 out of 1000 newborn babies are affected by the hearing loss problem.
The two main causes of hearing loss are sensor and the conductive neural.
1. Conductive Causes: This kind of hearing loss is caused because of the sound waves access or movement problem to the ear. The same is the case when the ear canals gets blocked. There are certain other causes as well, which can be found if one wants too.
2. Sensorineural Causes: In such type of cause the nerve or hair cells are damaged that blocks the way of sound waves.
As now the technology has become advanced and so it has made hearing treatment very easy. There are two types of hearing treatment; reversible hearing loss treatment ad permanent hearing loss.
In the case of reversible hearing impairment, causes are really very important. The treatment is successful most of the time in this case. The hearing treatment for permanent loss caused mostly due to age factor or is noise induced can only not be treated but helped to hear to some extent with the help of hearing aids.
When we talk about the age factor, the most common thing that comes to mind is Presbycusis. Many people might be unfamiliar with this word but this is the most common problem of hearing that is seen in the old age. Normally 30% to 35% suffers with Presbycusis in the age between 65 and 75. The main symptoms that a person may experience when attacked by the Presbycusis are unusual sounds and one hardly understands what other people are saying.
Presbycusis may affect in mild, moderately or severely. By conductive hearing loss, it means that the person loses its ability to hear sounds gradually. The heart diseases that disturbs the blood supply becomes the main cause of it like circulatory problems, high blood pressure and diabetes.
The other cause of Conductive hearing loss is the excessive noise exposure that can be prevented. It is very important to have know how of the gadgets that may become the reason of hearing impairment. These gadgets may be like the wood working machines, firearms and lawn mowers and so on. Try to avoid the use of such gadgets that produces lots of noise as they may damage your hearing abilities.
Hearing is an essential sense that a person needs to enjoy his life. You should not put your hearing at risk. Getting problems because of age factor is a natural thing but if a person suffers because of some other factor than this then it is due to patients own carelessness.
